The British Business Group, Pune Chapter completed 6 years on Saturday, 23rd April 2011 when it held its 5th AGM at Le Meridien, Pune.
BBG as it is popularly known is a Business Networking Platform where Indian and UK Companies interact – the Chapter is actively supported by the British High Commission in India.
The BBG Pune Chapter elected its New Executive Committee which is Co chaired by Ms Vandana Saxena-Poria OBE and Ramgopal Rao both of whom have been the Founder Members of the Pune Chapter. The theme for this year is “Year of Partnering” where BBG Pune Chapter will partner with Organisations both in the UK and in India to raise the profile of Pune as a preferred Investment Destination for UK Companies and the UK as the Destination for Indian Companies who want to access the European Market.
Currently the BBG Pune Chapter consists of over 115 Corporate Members which include a combination of Large Companies like Tata Motors, JCB, Bharat Forge, Kirloskar Brothers, HSBC Software Development Centre, Mid Sized Companies like Zensar, KPIT Cummins, Audit Firms like PWC, KPMG, Grant Thornton etc. BBG also has Small / Medium Enterprises run by Entrepreneurs both Indian and British.
The BBG, Pune Chapter meets once a month - normally on a Tuesday where a Speaker is asked to deliver a talk of about 30 - 40 minutes relevant to UK - India Business Ties.
Our earlier Speakers have been amongst others Mr. Nasser Munjee, Chairman, Development Credit Bank Ltd, Mr. Alan Rosling, Executive Director, Tata Sons Ltd., Mr. Arun Firodia, Sir Mark Tully, Padmashree Lila Poonawalla, Mrs Anu Aga, Mr Keki Mistry, Managing Director of HDFC, Mr Girish Wardadkar, President, KPIT Cummins Infosystems Ltd., Lord Digby - Jones of Birmingham, Lord Peter Mandelson, The Lord Mayor of London and also His Royal Highness Prince Andrew - the Duke of York !
